LG’s newest 3D smartphone launches in India – when will we see it here?

Asia and Europe continue to forge ahead with new 3D devices as the US continues to lags behind.

It has become such a common practice these days that products come first to the market and announcements appear later. Few days after the retail availability of Optimus 3D Max and Optimus L7, LG has officially announced the smartphones in India today. These smartphones have been priced at INR 30,500 and the INR 19,900 respectively.

Originally announced at MWC, Optimus 3D Max features 4.3-inch WVGA IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and dual 5MP rear cameras. It also comes with VGA front camera, 1GB RAM, 8 GB internal memory, and 1,520mAh battery.

On the other hand, L7 is company’s first ICS phone to reach India. It comes with has 4.3 inch WVGA display 1GHz Cortex A5 processor, 5MP auto focus camera and VGA front camera. Other features include 512 MB RAM, 4GB internal memory, and 1700 mAh battery.

LG extends Optimus smartphone line-up with the Launch of high-end Optimus 3D MAX and Optimus L7

New Delhi, 20 June, 2012:  LG Electronics, a leading mobile phone manufacturer, today announced the enhancement of the Optimus family with the launch of LG Optimus 3D MAX and Optimus L7 Smartphones. These beautifully designed, lightweight smartphones combine an unmatched viewing experience with incredible performance. Consumers no longer have to restrict themselves to the limited capabilities of an average smartphone, as the newly launched Optimus phones allow them to design their own smart lives.

If you simply can’t get enough of 3D in the Cinema or in your swanky home theatre, LG Optimus 3D MAX is the answer that promises 3D on the go without glasses.  It has a 4.3-inch screen with WVGA resolution & NOVA Display. Specs include a Tri-dual 1.2Ghz OMAP4430 processor (Dual Core, Dual Channel & Dual Memory), 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, two 5 megapixel cameras, and a 1,520mAh battery. The phone runs on Android 2.3, Gingerbread and is 9.6mm thin.

LG has also customized some of the software on the phone to take complete advantage of the glasses-less 3D capability. The 3D Converter takes 2D content of any available media (Videos, Pictures, Games) and converts them to 3D for your viewing pleasure. A 3D video editor is also included, allowing you to edit your video footage in 3D in real-time, and a 3D Hot Key allows you to quickly switch between 2D and 3D views.

With Optimus 3D MAX, you’ll be able to push video content via MHL HDMI or wirelessly thanks to DLNA, at resolutions up to 1080p. 3D content shot using the phone can be pushed out to your TV using either method, provided its 3D ready.

LG also unveiled its new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich running smartphone Optimus L7.

The Optimus L7 smartphone belongs to a range of devices with LG’s Unique Design Philosophy – ‘ L-Style’.

L-Style’s design philosophy is comprised of five aesthetic elements: Modern Square Style for a comfortable grip, Floating mass technology for a slimmer look, Seamless layout for a more intuitive arrangement of keys, Harmonized design contrast utilizing metallic accents and sensuous Slim shape that naturally draws one’s attention.

The LG Optimus L7 has a 4.3-inch display that supports WVGA (480×800) pixel resolution and comes with a 5-megapixel camera with LED Flash at the back and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera. With mere 8.7 mm slim body, the LG Optimus L7 houses a single-core 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile processor. It comes loaded with 1 GB RAM and offers 4 GB onboard storage. This smartphone also features Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi and GPS sensors. The LG Optimus L7 also comes loaded with LG Mobile TV- an inbuilt application where users can view 50+ live TV Channels, Online Widget Support, on demand service and Free TV Viewing for 2 months from the date of activation. It would also be the first device to feature LG’s Optimus UI 3.0.

These brilliant set of gadgets by LG are available in various stores across India. The LG Optimus 3D Max is priced at MOP of Rs.30, 500 /- and the LG Optimus L 7 is priced at MOP of Rs.19, 900 /-.
