Glasses free 3D digital menus planned for restaurants | 3D Focus
Autostereoscopic display company Dimenco partners with digital menuboard specialists Posterloid to bring glasses free 3D screens to fast food restaurants and concessions.

If you have visited a McDonalds or Burger King recently, you may have been enticed by video and animations on plasma screens above the servers. These digital menuboards can provide all the pricing and food information as well as being able to guide customer through the order experience, focus attention on desired items ( to increase upselling) and appeal to passing traffic.
This partnership deal means an extra 3D can now be added, with the hope it will replicate the success of a trial Dimenco conducted with Red Bull and the University of Tilberg, which saw an 8.5% increase in sales after a glasses free 3D screen displayed an advertisement for the energy drink.
According to Dave Reininger, National Sales Director, Posterloid: ”3D is ideal for introducing new menu features and promotions. The addition of a 3D item will dramatically increase impact, recollection and favorable impression of selected menu options.”
Dimenco offer screens with 28 viewing cones, variable depth and sizes of 23”, 42” and 55” and has been recently showing off a 4K model to reduce the resolution loss caused by lenticular panels.
