First Hollywood studio VOD licensing deal is milestone for SENSIO’s 3DGO! VOD rental service

MONTREAL, CANADA, Jul 17, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) — SENSIO Technologies Inc. (SENSIO) CA:SIO +15.63% today announced a 3D VoD licensing agreement with Starz Digital Media the digital and on-demand licensing arm of Starz Media, LLC to make select 3D movies available for on-demand rental on SENSIO’s 3DGO! service. Available in Fall 2012 across the US, 3DGO! is a dedicated 3D transactional VoD service that will offer the largest selection of high-quality 3D content – such as Hollywood blockbusters, must-see documentaries, and exclusive live events – to consumers whose 3DTVs support SENSIO(R) Hi-Fi 3D technology.

Sample titles coming in late 2012-2013 to 3DGO! for 3D on-demand rental include: Piranha 3DD (in 3D), Bait 3D, Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil (in 3D), and Spy Kids: All the Time in the World (in 3D)

“We are thrilled that Starz Digital Media is getting on board with us to launch the first dedicated 3D VoD channel,” said Richard LaBerge, SENSIO executive vice-president and CMO. “With select 3D titles from The Weinstein Company and Anchor Bay Films now secured and under license for rental, we are more determined than ever to realize our promise to address the lack of 3D content on the market and to support our SENSIO(R) Hi-Fi 3D customers with the best library of 3D content in the market. We are really looking forward to the next few months, as other content providers will join us in this effort to give consumers instant and easy access to the largest variety of high-quality 3D content.”

3DGO! uses the award-winning SENSIO(R) Hi-Fi 3D technology, a unique frame-compatible technology providing high-fidelity stereoscopic images using conventional 2D channels. After installing the application on a connected 3DTV, consumers will simply need to select the 3DGO! service to immediately start enjoying 3D content. The transactional model will offer consumers access to a wide 3D library, which SENSIO commits to continue to develop. Neither subscription nor additional equipment is required.
